JOB SUMMARY:
Research Assistant I needed for studies on the mechanisms driving genomic instability in renal cell carcinoma.
This position requires a self-starter with background in biology or chemistry. Also required are excellent communication (written and oral reports to the lab head and lab group). The applicant should be detail-oriented, able to maintain a high quality of record keeping including ongoing maintenance of a
well-structured lab notebook, have excellent organizational skills, drive, and ability to set an effective and productive agenda after guidance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Organize and maintain cell lines and human patient samples.
- Plan and incorporate routine controls in basic experiments.
- Provide general laboratory maintenance and support.
- Run advanced-level experiments and assays (examples: microscopy, flow cytometry, proliferation assays, molecular biology) initially with guidance and teaching, but later with independence.
- Accurate and prompt record keeping is essential.
