North Central Texas College is accepting applications for a Surgical Technology Instructor: Corinth, Texas; Full-Time
The purpose of this position is to provide instruction in designated Surgical Technology courses while ensuring completion of program goals and objectives by using current skills and knowledge to promote student learning and active participation while preparing students for the Surgical Technology world. Responsibilities include teaching classroom, lab and clinical course work, the ability to work cooperatively with faculty and students, to develop, organize, implement and evaluate a course in conjunction with the teaching team, select and organize learning activities that facilitate the attainment of the course objectives and provide guidance in the clinical area.
Graduate of CAAHEP accredited Surgical Technology Program
Associate’s Degree Applied Science in Surgical Technology preferred
Minimum of three years of experience in the operating room scrub role within the past five years required.
Five years of experience, either in the operating room scrub role or as an instructor in surgical technology, or a combination of both, within the past ten years preferred.
Proficiency in instructional methodology, curriculum design, and program planning preferred.
Experience/training as an educator preferred.
Skills & Abilities:
Ability to facilitate student learning through a variety of methods including lecture, discussions, practical and laboratory exercises, or practice-related experiences.
Microsoft Office proficient
Hours of Work:
Teaching schedule to be assigned. This position will teach 30 semester hours on Denton County campuses over a 9-month period.
Assignment is to the Corinth campus but travel may be required to other campuses. Subject to criminal background check. Resume, unofficial transcripts, certificate, and cover letter required in addition to application. Candidates will be required to present a short lecture to demonstrate their teaching style. The subject and specifics will be arranged by the committee chair. Salary commensurate with education and experience. Position begins Fall 2018.
