Baker College Professional Services, Inc. seeks to hire an individual to be assigned to the position of PROGRAM DIRECTOR OF SURGICAL TECHNOLOGY AND STERILE PROCESSING (FULL-TIME) for the benefit of and to be located at Baker of Muskegon.
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: The Program Director of Surgical Technology and Sterile Processing will be responsible for all aspects of the surgical technology and sterile processing programs, including the organization, administration, continuous review, planning, development, and general effectiveness of the program. The Program Director of Surgical Technology and Sterile Processing will teach classes during the academic year, visit clinical sites on a regular basis, prepare accreditation materials for annual and other reviews, as well as assist with administrative duties of the department.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: • Master’s degree preferred; Bachelor’s degree in Surgical Technology or related field required • Surgical Technology Credential through a National Certification Program accredited by National Commission on Certifying Agencies (NCCA) required • Minimum of 5 years of experience either in the operating room scrub role or as an instructor of surgical technology, or a combination of both within the past 10 years • Possess proficiency in instructional methodology, curriculum design, and program planning • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Apps • Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Teach up to 4 classes quarterly throughout the academic year; this may include summer quarter • Assist with retention and recruitment efforts • Hire, mentor, and evaluate departmental faculty • Assist with administration of the division to include, but is not necessarily limited to, advisory boards, developing a budget, curriculum coordination, public relations, and laboratory equipment acquisition and maintenance • Oversee clinical education in accordance with accreditation requirements • Prepare accreditation materials for annual and other reviews to include: submission of required fees and documentation, including reports of graduation rates, performance on state licensing or certification examinations, and employment rates • Other duties as assigned
WORK SCHEDULE: Standard-Academic Contract, may include evenings and weekends, willingness to travel
REPORTS TO: Vice President of Academic Affairs
STARTING DATE: ASAP
COMPENSATION: Salary based on education, experience, and existing wage rates paid for similar positions within Baker College Professional Services, Inc. Full benefit package.
