This part-time (20 hrs/week) Surgical Technology Lab/Clinical Assistant coordinates all aspects of student clinical placement. This involves communicating and maintaining relationships with community healthcare agencies to arrange student clinical experiences to meet course clinical objectives, as well as assisting program faculty with lab prep, instruction, and student assessment. The Clinical Coordinator observes, documents, and maintains records of clinical assessment and communicates to program directors all student clinical progress.
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
Maintain lab that prepares students for clinical externship.
Evaluate and document student progress on lab skill competencies.
Provide and monitor "extra lab time" for students.
Maintain all contracts with agencies utilized for externship placement.
Coordinates and communicates with clinical sites about student's schedules and rotation.
Recruitment of new clinical contracts.
Conduct routine visits to all the clinical sites including sites in Boston area to observe and document the students to assess if objectives are being met and the clinical facilities satisfaction with students' performance.
Ensure appropriate and sufficient evaluation of student achievement in the externship.
Report student observations and recommendations to Program Director.
Participates in program's Advisory Board meetings.

SALARY: $28.29 per hour, non-benefited, MCCC position.

Graduated from an accredited institution as a Surgical Technologist.
3 years of Operating Room experience.
Teaching experience preferred.
Certified in the field of Surgical Technology through a national credentialing organization accredited by the National Commission on Certifying Agencies (NCCA).
Candidate will be required to pass a CORI/SORI and or a National background check as a condition of employment
