Qualifications REQUIRED -HS Diploma or Equivalent required. -Completion of a CAAHEP accredited Surgical Technician Program is required. -Knowledge and practice of basic aseptic technique when carrying out assignments. -Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. PREFERRED -Three years Surgical Technician experience in a Level 1 or Level 2 Trauma Center operating room setting is preferred. -Certified Tissue Bank Specialists (CTBS) is preferred. -Implant coordinator experience preferred. Responsibilities The OR Materials Management Supervisor leads a team of Department Buyers, performing lead/advanced operational duties, setting priorities and coordinating work of the unit, training subordinates in work techniques, participating in employee recruitment efforts, performance appraisals and corrective discipline. This position identifies the learning needs of direct reports, developing and providing ongoing and continuous unit education and staff development of new and current direct reports. Along with supervisorial duties, the Materials Management Supervisor is responsible for compliance with all applicable regulations regarding tissues procured for implantation. Develops and maintains a quality management plan so that all policies, procedures and records pertaining to tissue/implants comply with applicable regulatory standards. Qualifies vendors of tissues/implants that are procured for implantation, and ensures process control of ordering, storage and issues of tissues/implants. Provides effective and successful customer service leadership to Health System staff and customers. Follows UCDHS policy for the introduction of new products and utilizes Rapid Cycle approval when necessary. This position works collaboratively with the patient care managers and clinical service coordinators, and makes recommendations to the OR Business Manager.
