Are you a Surgical Technologist with a passion for high-quality patient care and a love for the outdoors? Do you love mountain bikes, hikes, river trips, rock hounding, or four wheel adventures? How about a high quality of life in a small, rural community with 250 days of sunshine a year? Do you want to feel like an essential part of a team instead of 'just another number'? Would you like to provide patient care in the interest of the patient instead of the interest of the bottom line? If so, you might be a perfect fit for Moab Regional Hospital! Moab Regional Hospital (MRH) is seeking qualified candidates for two full-time Surgical Technologists.
Our Mission: Our dedicated team puts the patient first, delivers quality cost-effective healthcare and promotes wellness to all we serve.
Our Vision: From patient care to community wellness, we serve as your portal to health.
Surgical Techs play an essential role within the Surgical Services Department. MRH is a small, rural facility that provides a wide range of surgical services to our community, including orthopedic (including full joints) and general surgeries, c-sections, ophthalmology, podiatry, urology and gynecology, plastics, scopes, and more! As a small facility, our Surgical Techs wear many hats, including providing sterile processing and terminal cleaning after cases. Our ideal candidate is a compassionate, critical thinker that possesses a comprehensive range of general surgical tech skills.
We are proud to acknowledge that our Surgical Services Department is currently midstream with departmental cultural change. We're working hard to stop the culture of negativity and drama that is so often found in surgical services departments--and we're looking for a few key Surgical Techs to help with this transformation! The Surgical Techs that will do best are emotionally mature, low-drama, professional, and do not gossip. Honest, kind, and patient leaders will do well. This is a full-time, year-round, benefited position that includes on-call responsibilities, typically no more than 7 days per month (including rotating weekend) but occasionally up to 10 or 11 days per month, depending on vacations, sick leave, staffing levels, etc.
Current BLS Certification.
Available to take call 7-11 days per month, with 20-minute response time to hospital.
Excellent knowledge of aseptic and sterile techniques.
Solid understanding of patient safety and precautions.
In-depth knowledge of surgical operation procedures.
Prior experience as a scrub/surgical technologist.
Proven experience with central sterile processing.
A great team player with excellent communication skills including oral, written, and listening skills.
Cool tempered with emotional and physical stamina and able to respond effectively in stressful situations with changing circumstances.
Willing to learn and able to give and receive feedback respectfully and professionally.
1 year Surgical Tech experience, preferred but not required.
Certified Surgical Tech, preferred but nor required.
