Join the Labor and Delivery Department as a Surgical Technician at WakeMed North
The Surgical Technician, Labor and Delivery is an integral part of the medical and surgical teams. This position will require you to function under the supervision of a surgeon or registered nurse to ensure the operating room environment is safe, all equipment is functioning properly, and that the operation is conducted under conditions that maximize the safety of WakeMed patients. The Surgical Technician I will also assist with patients in triage when necessary. You will be responsible for assisting with the breakdown of the operating room and instrument care in the Labor and Delivery deck area.

3 years of clinical experience required
Surgical Technician certification required in lieu of a degree
Graduate Degree in Surgical Technology required or Associate’s Degree in Surgical Technology required
Military certification in Surgical Technology accepted
Certified Surgical Technologist required within 1 year of hire date
Candidates within 12 months of completion of Surgical Technology program accepted
Hours of Work: 7:00 am – 7:00 pm
Weekend Requirements: 4 weekend shifts in a 6 week schedule (every other weekend)
Call Requirements: As needed
