Marshfield Clinic Neillsville Center, located in West Central Wisconsin, offers a wide range of primary and specialty care services, including audiology, cardiology, general surgery, internal medicine, mammography, neurology, oncology and hematology, orthopedics, otolaryngology, physical medicine and rehabilitation, podiatry, pulmonary medicine, sleep medicine, sports medicine, and urology. The Surgical Technologist is a skilled member of the allied healthcare team who provides clinical support and/or operating room assistance under the supervision of a licensed physician. The Surgical Technologist works with a wide variety of healthcare professionals to deliver direct patient care before, during, and after procedures or surgery. The Surgical Technologist provides a safe, efficient environment for the surgical patient and staff by working in accordance with Marshfield Clinic Health System (MCHS) standards of practice and by adhering to MCHS policies/procedures, universal precautions, and sterile technique. - Two years of healthcare experience and one year experience as Surgical Technologist preferred
- BLS Certification through the American Heart Association (AHS) required within three months of hire; at time of hire preferred
- Surgical Technologist certification through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting within one year of hire and maintain throughout employment; at time of hire preferred
- Surgical Technologists employed at MCHS in a Surgical Technologist role prior to 3/1/2019 are not required to be certified but must acquire continuing education credits equal to the requirements to maintain certification
- Any Surgical Technologists joining MCHS through acquisition are not required to be certified, but must acquire continuing education credits equal to the requirements to maintain certification
- Must meet criteria for hospital and ambulatory surgery staff privileges (where applicable)
- May require additional specialty or department-specific certifications (where applicable)
