MaineHealth is seeking Surgical Technologists with previous outpatient experience in Damariscotta, Rockport and Belfast. Under the supervision of nursing and medicine, the Surgical Technologist facilitates the safe and effective provision of invasive surgical procedures, encompassing neonates to geriatric clients. This individual possesses the expertise in the theory and application of sterile and aseptic technique combines the knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures and implementation of tools and technologies to support patient outcomes.
Graduate of an accredited school of Surgical Technology.
One year of surgical practice preferred.
Must hold National Certification as an Operating Room Technologist or be able to obtain within 12 months of hire.
Completes unit-based competencies.
Demonstrates the knowledge of infection control in the unit.
Demonstrates sound judgment and critical surgical thinking skills in practice.
