Surg Tech CVOR FT Days Position Summary
Works with patients from adolescents to geriatrics. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned. Position may require call. Must reside within a 30 minute call time.
Assists nursing personnel with emergency procedures
Assumes responsibility for maintenance and quality control of equipment
Cleans and packages instruments/supplies for sterilization
Assumes role of monitor tech as needed
Performs hemodynamic monitoring procedures of a highly specialized nature as well as assists the physician during all procedures.
THE SURGICAL TECH CVOR FT DAYS CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION, LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE.
MINIMUM EDUCATION: High school graduate or equivalent GED for all current employees. Completion of formal education/training to obtain a Certification as a Surgical Tech.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Thorough knowledge and experience in operative procedures, equipment and instrumentation. One year surgical tech experience in cardiovascular in an acute care hospital.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Two years of hospital cardiovascular surgical tech experience.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Certification as a Surgical Tech. BLS; ACLS
