Overview
Atlantic Health System is seeking candidate for a Secretary/Scrub Technician position in the Mother Baby Unit at Newton Medical Center. This role will scrub for cesarean sections as well as function as a Unit Associate. The shift for this position is 5:00 pm -11:30 pm including every other weekend.
Responsibilities
- Be able to function as a scrub technician for obstetrical cases
- Prepares and maintains sterile field
- Anticipates surgeons needs during procedures
- Reporting changes in patients' condition to the RN and providing emotional support to patients and their families
- Provide secretarial support at the department's main desk, complete birth certificates in the VIP system, order supplies, and maintain surgical suite's supplies and equipment
- Excellent communication and customer service skills are essential
Qualifications
Education:
- Graduate of an accredited school of surgical technology
Certifications:
- Certification for Surgical Scrub Technician
- BLS required
Related Experience:
- 1-2 years' previous scrub technician experience preferred
- Nursery and L&D experience strongly preferred
