Certified Surgical Technologist, PRN

Role Summary:

The Certified Surgical Technologist/OR Scrub Technician provides proper and efficient care of the patient in the operating room under the direct supervision of the circulating nurse. He/she knows sterile technique, understands basic anatomy and operative procedures. The Certified Surgical Tech also has knowledge of instruments and equipment used in the operating rooms.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Certified Surgical Scrub Tech
• Sets up sterile field
• Passes instruments during procedure
• Assist OR staff as requested
• Adheres to practices and policies outlined to ensure patient safety and follows infection control standards

Department/Unit Summary:

Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital has 4 operating rooms in the main OR and 4 operating rooms at our Ambulatory Center. Staff have opportunities at both locations. We were the first facility in the state of Tennessee to have the innovative MAKO surgical solution for orthopedics.

The following types of procedures are conducted at our facilities:

• Orthopedic
• General
• GYN
• Urology
• Plastics
• Vascular
• Endo
• Bariatric

Position Shift:

• PRN. 8-hour and 10-hour shifts available. Hours of Operation: 6:30a-5:00p.
• Call Requirements: 1 Holiday per year
