The Operating Room has an outstanding opportunity for a FULL-TIME, VARIABLE DAYS, SURGICAL TECHNOLOGIST . The Operating Room Technician is responsible for facilitating assigned surgical procedures through the assembly of instrumentation, equipment, and supplies. The incumbent functions competently and independently within multiple specialty areas, under the general supervision of a Registered Nurse.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepares, cleans, and stocks suite with necessary instrumentation, supplies and equipment Prepares patient for operation and assists surgical team during operations Assisting with the preparation, proper positioning, and draping of the patient Facilitating or assisting with patient transportation when needed Serving in the scrub role during assigned procedures Anticipating the surgeon’s need for supplies and instrumentation and passing the appropriate instrumentation to the surgeon Cleans, disinfects, and sterilizes instruments Tracks usage and monitors equipment functionality Coordinates and collaborates effectively with other members of a multi-disciplinary surgical team, which includes Surgeon, Anesthesiologist, RNs, and other medical support personnel
REQUIREMENTS High school graduate or GED Graduate of a surgical technology school, military training, or a minimum of one year equivalent job training Registration from Washington State BLS certification
DESIRED Certification as scrub technologist Six months experience as an Operating Room Technician in a hospital operating room |
