Position Summary
The Surgical Technology Program is seeking qualified adjunct faculty for clinical instruction. Adjunct faculty in the surgical technology program provide instruction, supervision, and timely assessments of student progress toward meeting program requirements. This position has the potential for lab instruction as well.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
The clinical instructor is responsible for observing and evaluating students in the operating room environment on a bi-weekly to weekly basis. Clinical instructors provide constructive feedback to students and communicate with hospital personnel regarding student performance and needs for program completion. This position requires regular and timely communication with the academic chair of the program, particularly when there are any issues to be resolved. Adjunct faculty also participate in such events as open houses, student orientation, annual program advisory committee meetings, and adjunct faculty/curriculum meetings each semester. Adjunct faculty must be willing to follow program and accreditation requirements, as well as meet any on-boarding requirements that are specified by their assigned clinical location. The position also requires regular use of technology, including Canvas, Microsoft Office, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and clinical tracking using Platinum.
Required Qualifications:
Graduate of a nationally accredited education program in surgical technology and possess a current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) designation and have a minimum of two years experience, either as a surgical technologist in the operating room or as an instructor in surgical technology, or a combination of both, within the last five years. Teaching or preceptor experience in a surgical setting is strongly preferred. Must be computer literate.
