Under direction, the Operating Room Technician (OR Tech) assists in nursing care and the preparation of patients for surgery; assists in the operating room during surgery and in the recovery room; and performs support duties to include the cleaning and maintenance of supplies, instruments, and sterilizers. In addition to a full-time work schedule, Operating Room Technicians are required to be on-call at times where standby premium pay could apply.Distinguishing Characteristics:Operating Room Technician I is the entry level classification in this job series.
