JOB SUMMARY: Works under the direction of the Manager of the operating room in collaboration with the PCC-RN. Responsible for assisting with education, orientation, process improvement, product evaluation, onboarding of new physicians, instrument and equipment management, and Preference card management related to their service area. Provides for safety/security of self and others and follows all special precautions as related to patient care. They maintain a clean/organized perioperative unit. Promotes a positive attitude to staff, families, and patient/guests as well as maintains patient confidentiality. Performs all tasks in a manner that is cost effective without compromising quality of care, meets hospital continuing education and certification requirements, and upholds goals and objectives of the Department of Perioperative Services. Contributes to organizational effectiveness and demonstrates career growth and development. Works variable rotating shifts as assigned. Call is assigned on a rotating basis.

Vanderbilt Operating Room consists of 55 Operative Suites, Ortho, Cardiac, Neuro, General, General/Urology, Robotics, (GGUR), and Hepatic, General, Thoracic/Trauma, Vascular-Heart/Neck, Otolaryngology, Plastics, ENT, (HGTV-HOPE).
