Schedule: This position works 10-hour shifts, assigned on-call up to three times in 2-week pay period (designed to provide coverage for cases running late—not considered mandatory over-time)
Job Summary:
Shriners Hospital for Children-Portland is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join our team! This position provides high quality and individualized patient care based on the application of surgical technologist knowledge and education, as well as excellent interpersonal skills. Provides care during the intraoperative, preoperative, and postoperative phases of the patient’s surgical experience.

Qualifications, Skills, & Abilities:
Minimum 1-year operative scrub experience with specialized expertise in pediatric orthopedics preferred
Graduate of an Surgical Technology Program
Current Surgical Technology Certification
Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Card Certification
Knowledge of surgical principles and aseptic technique
Broad knowledge base of surgical instrumentation and application
Proficient of medical terminology, human anatomy and surgical equipment
Effective interpersonal skills and conflict resolution skills
Excellent communication and listening skills, the ability to work collaboratively in a team
Demonstrates effective problem solving skills
Must have the flexibility to alter assignments on short notice and work with diverse personalities and changing situations
