The Surgical Technologist (ST) functions as an integral member of a team of care providers in the Operating Rooms of the Perioperative Services at the OSU Medical Center. The surgical teams reflect a culture of cooperation, enthusiasm and mutual respect. The team, consisting of the Surgeon, Anesthesiologist, Registered Nurses (Circulator), Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNA), Surgical Technologist (ST), Perioperative Technician, Anesthesia Technician, Resident Physicians, Interns, and sometimes medical students and nursing students.
