Under direct supervision of the OR Patient Care Manager the Sr. Surgical Tech maintains responsibility for the care of the patient in the OR. Duties include: assisting with direct patient care activities. preparing and stocking the OR before and after surgery. gathering clean and sterile supplies. setting sterile instrument fields. maintaining and monitoring aseptic techniques. assisting with the orientation of new staff. and participating on departmental committees. Required Qualifications:
Successful completion of an accredited course in surgical technology
Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English, and understanding of medical terminology
Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
Two years of demonstrated surgical technologist experience in multiple specialties in an acute care facility
Current BLS certification
Preferred Qualifications:
Possession of a national Scrub Technician certification
