Shift : Monday - Friday position, but hours can vary: 0630 - 1500 or 0700 - 1530.

The role you'll contribute:
The endoscopy technologist actively participates in the preparation and management of supply inventories, endoscopic equipment, endo room suite readiness and clinical/technical assistance as directed while performing GI endoscopic procedures. This position requires knowledge of GI flexible endoscopes & instrumentation, the ability to prepare and or assemble complex mechanical devices, sequential planning, and knowledge of fundamental anatomy, strong anticipatory skills and dexterity. This position is also responsible to keep abreast of new products, procedures and physician techniques. The endoscopy technologist supports GI services to provide an effective and safe patient/staff environment. All activities associated with the role of the endoscopy technologist are under the direct supervision of the GI registered nurse and gastroenterologist. S/he is accountable for working within the parameters of their certification guidelines, regulatory standards, established policies, protocols and procedures; and utilizes other pertinent references as guidelines for clinical practice.

· Monitors PAR level of all endoscopy instruments and supplies
· Follows written procedures for high-level disinfection; knows responsibilities and the necessity for chemical and biological monitoring.
· Provides supportive care to patients under the direct supervision of an RN and physician.
· Demonstrates dexterity, knowledge and safety in the care and handling of endoscopy instrumentation and supplies, both sterile and unsterile.
