DescriptionUnderthe direct supervision of the Charge Nurse within the Operating Room, theSurgical Tech completes surgical set-ups according to department standards. TheSurgical Tech ensures and is responsible for the care of the patient in thesurgical suite, and is responsible for the surgical instrumentation and thepreparation of supplies and equipment used, as well as other related duties.Duties include anticipating patient needs at the sterile field, related topreparing for all supplies, instruments and equipment. The Surgical Tech isresponsible for implementing knowledge of aseptic technique, practices relatedto prevention of retained foreign objects, safe medication labeling andhandling, anticipatory skills
