The role you’ll contribute:
Participate and actively assist the surgeon in the performance of surgical procedures. Provides aid in exposure, hemostasis, and other technical functions to assist surgeon to perform a safe operation with optimal results to patient.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
Thorough and confidential maintenance of patient charts and records as required in position.
Documents ongoing status, interventions, patient response and outcomes in accurate, timely manner.
Anticipates surgeon’s needs and functions in such a manner as to not divert attention of the surgeon from the operative field.
Demonstrates the ability to maintain focus and technical dexterity working rapidly and accurately over long periods of time.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
Graduate from an accredited Surgical Assistant program.
Three years general operating room experience.
General knowledge of asepsis, healing, infectious disease process, surgical anatomy and physiology, safety issues and operative techniques.
Colorado Surgical Assistant or Surgical Technologist License upon hire unless performing Surgical Assistant duties within the scope of another active Colorado license, certification, or registration (required for Colorado employed staff only).
Basic Life Support from American Heart Association.
Certified as a one of the following: Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) by NBSTSA; Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA) by NSAA; Surgical Assistant–Certified (SAC) by ABSA; Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA) by NCCSA.
