Demonstrates proficient clinical skills in the scrub role.
Demonstrates ability to scrub on a wide range of procedures.
Demonstrates proven knowledge, skills, and abilities related to the handling of instruments/equipment in the OR and aseptic technique.
Demonstrates willingness to learn scrub techniques for new procedures and new instrumentation/equipment and receive feedback concerning clinical skills.
Actively works with leadership to identify own learning needs and seeks opportunities to meet these learning needs.
Provides ongoing feedback to the Perioperative Practice Coordinator (PPC) concerning preference cards and tray contents.
Demonstrates an ongoing concern for safety by adhering to established safety rules and practices
Responds appropriately to crisis situations as outlined in unit-specific standards, initiates interventions within the scope of responsibility, and advises circulating RN of all issues.
Participates in the planning of care appropriate to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, including knowledge of growth and development
Functions as an effective team member, supporting the concept of team training.
Actively participates in unit activities
This is a 40-hour-a-week position Day/Evening rotating shift
Education and experience requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Graduate of an accredited approved surgical technologist program for any employee hired after 2009.
