Saint Agnes Medical Providers (SAMP) and Saint Agnes Medical Center (SAMC) have an excellent full-time employment opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Surgical Services team as Surgical First Assist located in Fresno, California.
APP First Assist responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process.
- Provide direct care perioperatively under the supervision of a surgeon as a first assistant during surgical procedures utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Manage the care of assigned patients and directing the activities of ancillary nursing staff.
- Interact with patients and their families and collaborate with other health team providers to render quality care.
Requirements for this opportunity include:
- A minimum of three years of experience as a Perioperative First Assist
- RNFA certification is required for NPs
- Current NP/PA licensure with the State of California is required
- Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) certification required
- Current BLS required; ACLS preferred
