Under the guidance of the Registered Nurse, the Operating Room Surgical Technician, is responsible for assisting with preparation of surgical patients by performing routine and delegated duties according to standards and policies of the Operating Room and the Hospital.

Experience:

Minimum of one year O.R. experience preferred or a recent graduate of an accredited Surgical Technical School. Education and Training: High School graduate or equivalent preferred.Member of AST preferred. License, Certification and Registration: BLS required. CST (Certified surgical technologist) required. Other Requirements: Knowledge and understands of basic principles of asepsis, simple chemistry, simple biology desirable. Good dexterity, initiative to work independently, demonstrates effective communication and organizational skills. Meet all requirements established by Employee Health.
