The Surgical Technology Discipline at Delta College is seeking a full-time tenure track faculty member committed to equity, retention, and completion for student success. The instructor will be responsible for effective teaching in the face-to-face, blended, and online classroom. Potential candidates will have the ability to teach online as well as face-to-face and blended/hybrid courses during the evening, at multiple locations (Downtown Centers), and nontraditional times as needed. In addition, we seek candidates whose pedagogy, research, and continuous professional development have prepared them to engage with the college's commitment to belonging, equity, diversity, and inclusion (BEDI).

Surgical Technology, Surgical First Assisting and Sterile Processing program instructor Instructor will be responsible for teaching in-person section(s) at main campus, Saginaw campus and/or virtually
Calibrate and contribute to the advancement of Surgical Technology, Sterile processing and Surgical first assisting
Understanding of and ability to work with a diverse student population
Use of email, internet-based resources, and common Office software
Ability to teach in a variety of formats, including incorporating online learning systems
Understanding of ADA requirements and willingness to create accessible materials
Effective interpersonal skills

Required Qualifications:
Associate degree in Surgical Technology
Health-related Bachelor degree
Graduate of an education program in surgical technology that is also accredited by a nationally recognized programmatic accreditation agency.
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification from the NBSAST
Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) certification from the NBSTSA
BLS certification (current or upon hire)
Minimum total of three years of experience in the operating room scrub role and/or assisting role within the past five years
Additional Experiences Considered:
Masters degree preferred
Teaching experience in the related field preferred
An ability to teach in a variety of formats including online.
Pedagogy is informed by belonging, equity, diversity and inclusion.
